We redesigned how you send and request money

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

We kicked off 2019 with a new look of the app and we said that was only the beginning of a series of redesign efforts. In April, we released the all-new analytics giving you greater visibility to your daily, monthly, and yearly spending.

Now, we're excited to announce the release of our new send and request feature!

New send and request money screens

We’re only keeping what sparks joy!

We approached the redesign following Marie Kondo's philosophy of only keeping what sparks joy for our users. Whatever that doesn't spark joy simply needs to go.

As a result, we added micro-interactions, animations as well as a cool little 'ka-ching' sound to make the experience more joyful and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Building together

Through our user research and testing sessions, we gathered many feedback on the prototype we built. We then incorporate those feedback to reduce friction points in the experience.

For example, we now show your account balance on the right where you enter the send or request amount. You'll know exactly right away if you've enough money before you send money. Hopefully, this reduces the need to switch back and forth in search for the information.

Want to influence the next big thing at BigPay? Join us in our next user session!

Here's how it works

  1. From Payments > Friends, choose from a list of all your friends on BigPay

  2. Enter the amount of money you want to send or request

  3. When you're ready, pull and release to send

  4. If you're sending money, you'll need to authenticate

  5. And you're done! Share your confirmation receipt with your friend

This update is already available to you. Get it now on the App Store or Google Play if you haven’t already done so.

We hope you like the new send and request money experience! We loved to hear your thoughts. Tweet us at @bigpaymeapp or show some love on our Instagram and Facebook page.
